Attributed Mauritz De Haas, N.A. (1832 - 1895), O

Depicts a sinking ship in a storm with life boats, canvas is unsigned, 24" H x 36" W, painting is placed in a circa 1930's French style carved gilt frame. Condition: No visible damage found, however black light reveals a 3" x 5" area of in-painting just to the right and below the ship on the right hand side of the canvas, other small areas on in-painting in the wave area, very minor in-painting in the sky areas, none of the in-painting totals more than 10% of the total surface area, has been recently cleaned and re-varnished, carved wood frame does show some moderate wear to the corners and to the edges.
