Titled: " The Highland Stream", measures 48" W x 28" H, painting is placed within a early 20th C. French gilt on plaster on wood frame with an early brass title and artist I.D. plate. Condition: Signed very lightly in the LL. The original varnish has turned slightly yellow and could use a cleaning, visible paint losses along the bottom edge of the painting with average size being approx. 1/8" x 3/4" H, no paint loss areas extend further than 1/2" into the image area, additional small paint on the left edge measuring approx. 1/2" x 1/8", some craquelure lines with minor separation in the treed areas, frame itself shows heavy patination and some minor cracking and small losses. Black light examination reveals a vertical area of restoration on the left side of the canvas starting at the top of the tree line and extending down to the water line, measuring approx. 16" L x 1" W, no other restoration found.
