Depicts an elderly gentleman with large white car, painting is in a late 18th C. painted wood frame with beaded molding, 21" H x 17" W, appears unsigned. Condition: Black light illumination reveals an early linseed oil varnishing, and various in-painting in the face including a horizontal tear beneath the eyes across the bridge of the nose, the in-painting on the face does not occur in the eyes, mouth or chin areas, some additional in-painting in the UL and a 1-1/2" diameter area at the bottom center, frame does show much flaking and some minor losses, but is consistent with the age of the frame, no other damage found.
