The covelet is signed in two corner blocks "A.W.Van-Doren, Weaver Avon" Avon township Michigan It is additionally inscribed "Sarah Serena Morse". A thesis done in 1982 for the wayne state university art department shows that A.W. Van-Doran was the only jacquard weaver in michigan. ( This thesis will accompany this lot to the buyer) There is a border inscription on 3 sides "Oakland County Michigan" The Jacquard covelet has circular floral medallions decorating the center section, 67" W x 78" L. Condition: There is moderte wear on 2 of the 4 edges. There are additional small stains in the central section. Some edges also have moderate fraying.
