Titled: "The Highland River", depicts a fisherman in a stream, painting measures 24" H x 36" W, additionally there is a paper label on the stretcher from the "Lambeth Frame Works A.H. Hopter", painting has been placed in a early 20th C. painted gilt on plaster on wood French style frame, with a early 20th C. title and artist name plate. Condition: No visible damage found, painting has been relined, black light examination reveals inpainting is present effecting approx. 20% of entire surface area, there is a number of retouched areas on the left side of the canvas varying from a 1/2" diameter to 1" in diameter, the small figure of the fisherman has had extensive retouching, the mountain or hill areas and sky shows multiple small to large inpainted areas with the largest being approx. 2" x 1", the frame itself does show wear and some fracturing from shrinkage with minor losses.
