Early Plaster Lion Figure & Paper-Mache Bird

The early 20th C. cast plaster lion figure measures 14-1/2" L x 10-1/2" H x 7" W and has a polychrome painted finish, the paper-mache bird figure (Pea Fowl?) measures 9" H and has a polychrome painted surface also. Condition: The painted lion appears to have been originally gilded with some showing through, moderate flaking overall with a 1/2" diameter area of loss on the left foot and other small chips around the base; the bird has a 1/8" x 1/4" diameter hole on the backside of the head with a fracture extending from the hole down into the chest of the bird, the painted finish on the bird was previously varnished which is turning yellow, no other major damage found.
