1st Edition 24kt Gold on Sterling, 38 coins, all Proof Set. The Shakespeare Medals Form the 1st series of Art Medals to be issued by The Royal Shakespeare Theatre. This Series Honors the 350th Anniversary of The Publishing of the famous 1st Folio, The 1st Edition of his plays. The 1st Folio was produced in 1623 which dates this set to 1973. In original fitted leatherette book. IN VG to EC, weight of coins, as weighed by staff is 49 Troy Ounces and 8 DWT. According to the consignor only 100 sets were produced with most sold in England.
