Circa 1900 Lacquered Paper-Mache Collar Box

The circular form lidded box is decorated with transfer printed lithographs and fine gilt scroll work, the lacquer finish is also smoke decorated under a clear coating, the lid lithograph shows a female maid drawing water from a well being assisted by 2 cupids, the bottom of the box has a coloring lithograph showing a couple in a garden scene, box measures 6" diameter x 4-1/2" H. Condition: The lower portion has 2 areas of loss under the lid edge (not seen when lid is in place), heavy wear on the underside, the lid shows some fine craquelure in the lithograph area with very minor separation, no other damage found.
