Circa 1870 Cast Iron Horse Door Stop

Mounted on its original wood base, this cast iron prancing horse still retains its original and gilt surface, the horse measures 10" L x 9" H and is mounted on a wooden base that measures 14" L x 4-3/4" W, overall height is 10" H. Condition: The item has fantastic patina, does show moderate to severe wear from heavy use, the original paint has approx. 25% loss with no breaks to the iron, the wooden base shows extreme heavy wear with the beveled edges being nearly rounded, horse is loose on the base and needs tightening, no other major damage found.
