Doe Hazelton Co U.S. House of Representatives Carved Oak Desk 1857. This rare desk and the matching chair selling in Lot # 110 in today's sale were designed by Mr. Thomas Ustick Walter for use in the newly renovated House of Representatives Chamber of the United States Capitol Building. The desk was made by the Doe Hazelton Co of Boston, Massachusetts. When the House underwent another redecorating in 1873 the desks and chairs were removed and some were sold. This is one of those desks. 34 1/2" h x 29" w x 21" deep.
