J.D. Barrow Original Signed Hudson River School Oil Painting on Canvas, Fall Landscape with cottages. In very nice, as found, condition. Two small paint flakes and overall surface dirt. Exhibits excellent detail and terrific fall colors. Mounted in original gesso over wood frame which is in need of attention. The painting is signed lower left "J.D.B." (John Dodgson Barrow b. 1824 d. 1907 American) and dated "1863". It is also signed on the back of the canvas "J.D. Barrow" and again dated "1863". There is a paper label pasted to the stretcher / frame which is partially worn away. The paper appears to be an exhibit label. Sight size 12" h x 19 1/2" w. Overall 19" h x 26 1/2"w.
