(all published), plates, with Farrago flyer designed by Oliver Holt and a 1931 printed League of Nations paper loosely inserted, original wrappers, last 2 issues with contemporary ink name of the academic Una Cormack to top edge of upper wrapper, a very good set, 8vo, Oxford, Simon Nowell Smith, February 1930-June 1931.

***Scarce. This periodical was issued by Nowell Smith "as a rival to Oxford Poetry", and includes contributions by Evelyn Waugh, Max Beerbohm, Rex Whistler, John Sparrow and Edward Burra. The editor Peter Burra was killed in a flying accident in 1937, at the age of 27. His biographies of Van Gogh and Wordsworth established his reputation as a writer. E.M.Forster described him as "the best critic of his generation". This set comes from the Burra-Moody Archive, which holds the collected papers of author and critic, Peter Burra (1909-1937) his twin sister, the soprano Helen (Nell) Burra (1909-1999), and Helen's husband, the actor and producer John Percivale Moody (1906-1993)..
