a short essay on the Tarot of the Egyptians, being The Equinox Volume III No.V, number 46 of 200 copies, inscribed in Greek by Crowley on the limitation page, mounted colour plates, plain illustrations, biro "layout" (possibly for tarot reading) on preliminary blank f., original morocco-backed hieroglyphic-patterened boards, by Sangorski & Sutcliffe, spine very slightly sunned, corners slightly rubbed, otherwise a fine copy, t.e.g., others uncut, O.T.O., [1944].***The inscription is in Greek, under the Sigillum Sanctum Fraturnitatus A A device, and reads 'Mega Therion 666 / 9° = 2° A ...A ...' An important work in Crowley's canon, and an essential volume for those interested in the tarot systems. This book was published as an issue of The Equinox to avoid the Board of Trade's war-time restrictions on the use of quality paper for new books..
