Impressive, Ancient Kylix of Apulia

c. 350-330 B.C., Red-figure Stemless Kylix of Apulia, Choice Extremely Fine.
9.75” wide. Kylix of usual form, but sits in wide ring foot. The glaze an extremely glossy silvery black, with olive tint, along with reserve bands of red on underside of foot. The tondo shows a graceful acanthus palmette, centered within reserve circles of red. Repair with trivial restoration to one handle, otherwise intact and pristine. A wonderful object -- so classically Greek!
