Impressive c. 18th Century, KORAN c. 18th Century, KORAN. 9” x 8”. Written in Arabic. From the Harrar area in Northern Ethiopia, where a small group of Muslims resided, this Koran’s spine is cloth bound with fiber board covers from the modern century. There is blue ball-point writing on the cover page, probably from the previous owner. There are notes, written in Arabic, with black ink, throughout the book, as well as several handwritten, added pages. Pages are toned an even tan brown, and are soiled on the edges from use. The book has sustained water damage, which does not detract from the content of this religious item. Overall in fine condition. ImagesClick on thumbnails to see larger images:
