Maps 1761, SUITE DE L’HISTOIRE DE CARTHAGE, DEPUIS L’AN 3786 JUSQU’A L’AN 3860, SECONDE GUERRE PUNIQUE, Choice Extremely Fine. 15” x 21.5”, hand colored. Light foxing, a marginal chip. A 9.75” x 9.25” central map, showing Northern Africa and part of Southern Europe comprising part of the Roman Empire, surrounded on both sides by French text, describing the second Punic War between Carthage and Rome. An ornate border frames the text and map. Two pages, joined, from an early atlas and retaining its huge margins. Impressive.
