Map of “Delaware Bay and River”

July 1779, THE GENTLEMAN’S MAGAZINE, London, England, Very Fine.
8” x 5,” two-column layout, pp. 329-376, disbound, lacking covers. “By Sylvanus Urban, Printed for D. Henry, at St. John’s Gate.” A Revolutionary War dated complete issue containing news of the war, contemporary interests, and a fold-out copper-engraved map, a copy of the original by “Mr. Fisher of Philadelphia 1776” of the waterways between Philadelphia and Delaware. Good contemporary accounts of the unrest in America, Parliamentary debates, “American News,” the “sufferings of Quakers,” and much more. Very minor toning, some chipping, and some offset printing, but generally clear and clean; last signature is partially separated. A wonderful insight into events of the day, and a nice map besides!
