TWO ORIGINAL PASTELS BY ADELAIDE HIEBEL (1879 - 19

Two beautiful works in pastel on stretched canvas by Adelaide Hiebel (1879 - 1965). Both are signed, one lower left and the other lower right. They measure 39 x 30 inches and are in very good condition noting some surface abrasion and very light surface scratches to the pastel surface. Adelaide Hiebel is well known for her works that depict Children and American Indians as well as her renditions of Landscapes such as these. For many years Adelaide Hiebel was a staff illustrator at the Joliet, Ilinois firm of Gerlach Barklow also widely known for their callendars, blotters and other promtional items that bore the images of works by Hiebel, Zula Kenyon, Mabel Rollins Harris and other well known artists. These two original works were purchased from the estate of a Gerlach Barklow employee more than 30 years ago. Original works by Adelaide Hiebel are a rare find. This is an opportunity to acquire two works as these are to stay togehter and be sold as a pair.
