ARMLESS NAVY VETERAN. This is Richard D. Dunphy. Born in Ireland, he was a Coal Heaver serving on board the U.S.S. Hartford in attacks against Fort Morgan and the capture of the "Tennessee." CDV with pen inscription on verso, probably in his hand, from "Flag Ship 'Hartford' Mobile Bay Aug 5th '64." No imprint, blue 2 cent Bank Check stamp. CDV with mount corners clipped. [2+]
