Meshech Weare (1713-1786) Farmer, statesman. Meshech was New Hampshire's first "President" and served as chief justice of the states highest court the "Superior Court of Judicature" from 1776 to 1782. He also served as presiding officer of the Council, then part of the upper house of the Legislature. 7 ¾" x 7" document signed, Hampton Falls, February 10, 1752. The document, which is also signed by two others, is a notice of a meeting to be held on February 24th to "…Consider of the most Proper method to be taken with Regards to Building a Saw Mill…." Toned with some age spotting.
