George Clymer (1739-1813) Politician. Clymer was one of the first Patriots to advocate complete independence from Britain and was a signatory of the Declaration of Independence as a Pennsylvania representative. 6" x 2 ½" payment order signed, Philadelphia Bank, May 20, 1814. The bank to "…pay to D. Edwin or Bearer on demand Twenty Dollars…." Clymer signs as bank president. There are cancellation strokes across the document, two of which are through the signature.
