Marinus Willett (1740-1830) Revolutionary War patriot. Willett was a member of General Washington's army in New Jersey in 1778) and General John Sullivan's in 1779. Later he served as both Sheriff and Mayor of New York City. 12 ½" x 5" partially printed document endorsed, "M. Willett, Sherf," City of New York, August 18, 1793. The document is an arrest warrant ordering the Sheriff to arrest John Lewis signed and endorsed by William Livingston.
