Description
Thomas Mifflin (1744-1800) Politician. Mifflin became Aide-de-Camp to Gen. Washington, who appointed him the first quartermaster general of the Continental Army. He served three terms as Governor of Pennsylvania. 8" x 5" financial document endorsed, October 24, 1783. The document is a promissory note to Mifflin written and signed by Cadwalader Morris (1741-1795) for the sum of three hundred dollars. Mifflin has endorsed the document on the reverse, fold break.
