(Martin Van Buren) (1782-1862) 8th President. 6" x 9" printed 1836 "Electoral Ticket" from Virginia, identifying the electors for President Martin Van Buren and Vice President Richard M. Johnson. Van Buren defeated William Henry Harrison in the 1836 election becoming the eighth president. Jeremiah McCulloch has signed the reverse of the document.
