Description
Certificate of Exemption. 7 ½" x 9 ½" partially printed document signed, Schenectady, September 3, 1864. Edwin Wilber from Stillwater, New York, provided a substitute, Michael Gever, who enlisted in the Navy on September 2, 1864 thus relieving Wilber of military duty. The document is signed by the Captain and Provost Marshal, Commissioner and Surgeon of Board. There is a break in one fold.
