Description
Simon Bolivar Buckner (1823-1914) CSA General. Buckner surrendered Fort Donelson on the famous "unconditional surrender" terms of Gen. Ulysses S. Grant. Released after five months' imprisonment, Buckner was promoted to Major General and participated in numerous battles, most notably at Perryville and Chickamauga. Check written and signed, Hart County Deposit Bank, October 31, 1908. The signature is not affected by cancellations.
