Description
William Ruffin Cox (1832-1919) CSA General. Cox led his troops at the Battle of Cold Harbor. At the Battle of Monocacy, Cox's brigade played a prominent role in the day long fighting. Cox served in the trench defenses during the Siege of Petersburg. Promoted to Brigadier General, Cox led a division during the final year of the war, including the Appomattox Campaign. 9 ¾" x 6 ¾" stock certificate, Chatham Rail Road Company, May 1, 1853, signed "Wm. R. Cox," as president.
