THE THREE STOOGES Popular slapstick comedy trio who made a series of successful film shorts for Columbia Pictures through the 1940s, featuring MOE HOWARD (1895-1975); his brother, CURLY HOWARD (1906-1952); and kinky-haired LARRY FINE (1911-1975). Collection of three individual SPs, b/w, 4½"x6½" candid portraits in street clothing standing outside the old Riverside Theatre in San Francisco, ca. early '40s. Moe is wearing a pinstripe suit and fedora has signed "Moe 3 Stooges"; Curly, wearing a suit as well with overcoat over his arm and holding hat, cigar in hand, has signed "Curly 3 Stooges," the "'3 Stooges'" beneath a little faded but entirely legible; and Larry, squinting a bit in the bright sunlight is dressed a bit more casually in slacks and sport coat, has signed "To Lorraine, Sincerely, Larry 3 Stooges." Overall in excellent condition. The three are triple matted beside each other under archival glass within simple frame. Overall 23¼"x13½". An unusual candid photo composition of the original comedy team. Est: $1000-1500
