A beautiful vintage Navajo azurite malachite choker necklace, in sterling silver; designed by H.T Nez, USA, circa 1970's - 1980's. Navajo Native American jewelers are well known for their beautifully crafted hand made sterling silver pieces. This stunning necklace is formed out of six rows of round and rectangular silver beads and complementary round blue green azurite malachite beads. It culminates in a central cabochon cut bezel set gem with silver flecks that echo the overall colors and natural flow of this fine choker. It has been finished with a sturdy screw in barrel clasp. It is quiet a substantial piece weighing approximately 37.3 grams and has an inner circumference of 16.5 inches (41.91 cm). The central gem measures 0.71 inches (1.8 cm) tall by 0.51 inches (1.3 cm) wide. The choker is in excellent condition showing only general signs of wear and has only been lightly cleaned to leave the patina intact.
