East Tennessee chest of drawers, signed on back in black script, "R. O. Dial St. Plain" (Strawberry Plains, Grainger County, TN). Two drawers over three graduated drawers on bracket feet, dovetailed drawers. Walnut primary, poplar secondary. Unusual dovetailed divider separating top two drawers. Condition - old refinish, replaced knobs, old loss to bottom left front facing, newer right back rear facing, newer blocking mixed with old. Bracket feet appear old, possibly original. Dimensions 41 5/8" width x 19" depth x 41 3/4 height. Circa 1830.
