Smyth Co., VA diminutive blanket chest with yellow paint, found in Ceres, VA. Dovetailed case with inlaid escutcheon, interior till. Exceptional turned feet. Walnut primary wood with yellow pine secondary. Condition - yellow paint probably from late 19th century, top not attached, one hinge missing with warping to back edge where hinges attach. 20 1/2" height x 18 1/2" depth x 37 1/2" width. Circa 1825. Hearn estate.
