Early wooden fife instrument, found in a Nashville, Tennessee estate. In four interlocking sections, three sections marked "Firth Pond & Co. New York" with middle section having the additional name, "Franslin Sce". Old inscription in ink near the end reads, "H. Ulcomb Harper August 27th 1---- (?spelling of name & date not completely legible). Overall warm patina. Condition - old break at turning holding brass lever. 24" length. 19th century
