Pair of walking canes, found in Wythe County, Virginia. 1st item - Early tiger maple turned cane, ball finial with a couple of incised turnings below the ball, tapered shaft. Condition - very good for age, expected wear. 48 1/2" length. Mid 19th century. 2nd item - wooden cane with old patina, top of shaft with a brass cap, three graduated brass rings on the tapered shaft. Condition - old age crack near top, wear to old surface in areas, overall very good for age. 36" length. Mid 19th century.
