Southwestern Virginia stoneware jar with cobalt decorated flower and leaves on both sides of the jar, impressed "4" near handle, indicating gallon capacity. Attributed to Magee or Keys pottery of Washington County, Virginia . Found in Wythe County, VA. Condition - excellent, one difficult to see hairline, near shoulder area, 2" length. 14 1/2" height. Third quarter of 19th century. Hearn estate.
