Two (2) Southwest Virginia stoneware jars. 1st item - Stoneware jar with angled rim, inset lid with handle, glazed bottom. Found in Smyth County, VA. Condition - faint hairline to rim area, extends less than 1", old rim chip. 8 1/2" height with lid. 19th century. 2nd item - alkaline green glazed jar with angled rim. Found in Rural Retreat, VA. Condition - old rim chip, firing crack in base does not extend into sides. 8 3/8" height. 19th century. Hearn estate.
