Grouping of North Carolina stoneware. 1st item - Large stoneware jar with lug handles, incised lines around neck, incised "3" (probably denoting gallon capacity) as well as an incised "P" (?) on the opposite side. The lug handles slightly flare at the edge of the handle. Condition - couple of old rim chips, hairline from rim extending below one of the handles, wear to glaze, especially on bottom. 16 1/4" height. 19th century. 2nd item - Catawba Valley North Carolina green alkaline glazed jar with lug handles, impressed "2", probably denoting gallon capacity. Condition - old flake to one handle, tight hairline starting at rim extending into shoulder. 12 1/2" height. 19th century. Hearn estate.
