Large portrait of Professor Lowry of Knoxville, Tennessee by Knoxville artist, Lloyd Branson. Signed on lower right corner, "Lloyd Branson 1909?". Accompanying the lot is an early 20th century photograph album with photographs of Lowry and the school where he taught. Retains the original gilt frame. Condition - very good condition, a couple of scratches to background and one near the sleeve area, minor inpainting around hand area when blacklighted, some near elbow area. Some gilt carving losses to the frame. Dimensions 31 5/8" x 42 3/4" painting, 42" x 53" frame. Circa 1909.
