Important diamond, sapphire, & platinum brooch

Diamond and Platinum Art Deco brooch or spray with separate circular diamond and sapphire circle pendant. The pendant hinges to the brooch or both can be worn separately. 1st item - Art Deco brooch/spray composed of various shaped diamonds and cuts including two large mine cut diamonds, a large light pink emerald cut diamond, six marquise cut diamonds, and remaining diamonds of various size and shape. The largest mine cut diamond (8.45 x 5.6mm) has a clarity of VS2 and a color of O/P and the second largest mine cut diamond (8.1 mm x 4.6 mm) has a clarity of VS2 and color L/M. 13.9 total carat weight of larger diamonds of fine color and clarity (not including the carat weight of 176 smaller diamonds). Platinum setting with 14K white gold pin. Total weight of brooch/spray is 47.2 grams. 2nd item - Diamond and Sapphire circle pin in Platinum setting measuring 2 1/2" diameter. Nineteen (19) assorted square and rectangular shaped bezel set sapphires from medium to dark blue along top of circle pin, and seventy six (76) round diamonds of assorted size G/H in color completing the remainder of the circle. The largest diamonds are a .83 carat with a clarity of VS1 & K/L color and a .74 carat with a clarity of VS & I/J color. 4.24 carat weight of circle pin, 29.8 grams. Platinum setting with 14K white gold pin. Circa 1940. For both the brooch/spray and circle pin, 18.14 total carat weight (not including carat weight of 176 smaller diamonds on brooch), total weight 77.0 grams. Note - the largest mine cut diamond on the brooch could be re-cut to 2.5 carats, and the second mine cut could be re-cut to 2.1 carats. Provenance - purchased from Linder's of Atlanta in the early 20th century. Note - Joseph Mackley, Master Gemologist Appraiser, ASA, Knoxville, TN, was consulted this lot. Approximate retail value - $85,000.
