Empire secretary bookcase, two sections. Belonged to Carl C. Warden family, Battle Creek and Ann Arbor, Michigan. Scrolled empire stiles, interior writing surface with two long dovetailed drawers over three drawers. Top with detachable cornice. Mahogany veneer with poplar wood secondary. Accompanying this lot is a CDV of Carl Warden. Condition - various areas of missing veneer, mostly minor. Bleaching of scrolled stiles on base, other wear commensurate for age. 88 1/2" height x 50 1/4" width x 25 1/2" depth. Circa 1835. Lindsley Warden estate.
