Large 19th century carving of Mercury. Found in Baltimore, MD and believed to have come off a port building in New York City. Consisting of a carved head resembling Mercury, with winged cap, beard and mustache. Condition - overall very good condition, expected weathering to surface, two previously plugged holes on back, possibly where carving was affixed to a building. 31" length, 14 1/2" width. American, 19th century.
