FRENCH OR CONTINENTAL SCHOOL (Early 19th Century)"Portrait of an Aristocratic Lady". With Greco-Roman braided hair and scarlet shawl. Oil on canvas. Measuring 27 3/4" by 20 1/2". In the original gesso cast and gilded exhibition frame with tortoiseshell veneered interior matte. (Surface heavily crazed, original canvas, has noticeable stretcher bar marks, surface very dirty, two noticeable scuffs and chip, will need full restoration, frame has cracks, crazing, losses to molding, all Period) (1000/1500)
