Publisher: Government Printing Office
Printing Year: 1903 (Vol. XXIII for 1903)
Condition/Details: Bound in gray cloth with gilt embossing, this antique volume is a scarce government publication detailing the many varieties of fish of the Hawaiian Islands. The book is profusely illustrated with beautiful fish images, which can be found throughout the text as well as in a large section of over seventy individual plates, each boating a color lithographed illustration designed by the likes of Kako Morita and A.H. Baldwin and printed by Julius Bien. These images include many very rare and unusual-looking species like the Humuhumu Eleele. All the original plates are present, intact and show beautifully with bold, colorful impressions and minimal indications of age and wear aside from mild, even page toning. The book measures approximately 7.5" x 11" and contains 574 numbered pages. Shipping cost (within the U.S.) for this lot will be: $9.50
