Type 1:112R. 2- to 5-line initial spaces with guide letters. Title on a3r printed in red. Early 19th-century blue-grey sugar-paper wrappers, ink manuscript lettering to backstrip. Condition: wormtrack through text to hh7, second track through outer margin to ff5; backstrip torn with slight loss. Provenance: 'Bibl. Gust. C. Galletti Flor.' (blue ink stamp at foot of aa2 recto); Baron Horace de Landau (1824-1903, LH monogram book label ). the landau copy of the second, first authorized, edition of herodian's history of the Roman empire from A.D. 180 to 258: the most reliable source for the time. This is the first edition to include the marginalia and the letter to Magnanimus, and is one of three incunable editions of the text, all published in 1493. BSB-Ink.
