Lincoln Assassination photograph

LINCOLN ASSASSINATION. To the Memory of Abraham Lincoln, President of the United States of America.

[Philadelphia]: A. Bancroft, 1865. Oval alumen photograph on the original oval mount (400 x 330 mm). The mount with text on each side of the image. Contemporary gilded frame. Condition: small tear at the right side without loss to text, the frame with a few chips. To the left of the image are significant dates in Lincoln's life, the right is a lengthy quote from Lincoln's second inaugural and below is a poem beginning "The Great Republic loved him as its Father." The photograph is after a print, but still a nice memorial piece. OCLC locates only a copy at Indiana University; another is located at the Indiana Historical Society.
