Double-page engraved map with two insets based up memoirs of Jesuits Martini and Verbiest. From Edward Wells' ''A New Sett Of Maps Both Of Antient And Present Geography,'' editions published 1667-1727. 14 1/8 x 19 3/4 in. Relies mostly on maps by Nicholas De Fer (Fr. 1646-1720), but uses Portuguese sources for Korea, Japan, and the nearby Asian coast. Uncolored.

Condition report

Entire verso of map archivally backed repairing split in center fold faintly visible on face of map, few tiny tears and few short tape residue top edge.
