Superb old wooden canoe, the exterior carved with intricate abstract motifs and totemistic figures. Kambot Village, New Guinea, circa 1945-1960. Fantastic example of a culture's commitment to aesthetic in an object which if not early collected would have quickly been swallowed up by tropical waters. Very good condition with expected wear.
