Pennsylvania silk and paint on silk pictorial needlepoint, attributed to the Folwell School, ca. 1805, depicting 2 young lovers in a pastoral landscape, the background with a cottage and three men working in a field, 22'' x 24 1/4''. According to family tradition, the school girl who wrought this piece was Kathryn Myers, b. 1778.
Condition report
Foxing and abrasions to sky. Minor sporadic thread loss/fraying, mostly to figures clothes.
