Antique American needlepoint sampler. Alphabet and numbers sampler, in wood frame, by Asenath Colman, born Oct. 7, 1776, Ashby (Massachusetts) and completed October 28, 1792. 8 3/4'' x 9 1/8''. Accompanied by historical information on the maker.

Condition report

Very good condition, minor staining in lower right on the name and in lower left area, backing material is yellowed and embroidery threads are faded, consistent with age of piece. Top and bottom of sampler are stitched to paper backing. Right side of sampler has pulled away from side of frame.
