Scarce cover with red thermographed Goldcraft cachet & Wallops Island hand cancel. This cover is pictured in the Wilhelm catalog. This was the third test launch of a Mercury escape system. Onboard was Mr. Sam, a Rhesus monkey & biological experiments. Flight reached 55 miles into space & returned safely. A rare and unusual cover. Very fine.
