Extremely rare, never before offered by us is this group of hand-prints of Squirrel monkey 'BAKER' who along with Rhesus monkey 'ABLE' were successfully carried aloft into space on May 28, 1959. The two primates were recovered alive by the U.S.S. Kiowa. Essential for the completion of any Space Autograph collection, this item consists of a note dated Sept. 27, 1972 signed by handler David C. Gaines with the prints on the front & back of a torn, white, oversize envelope. Since Miss Baker was not gentle with the paper she handled we can not expect better condition as indicated in Mr. Gaines' note enclosed. (Certificate of Authenticity from Todd Mueller Autographs)
